Ripping the band aid off

I can not express in words how bad this hurts.   These wounds are too tainted and the infection has spread, consuming all there was.  I have never been so devastated by a single person.  I was not smart enough, capable enough, compassionate enough.   I was not enough.   Not enough to help.   Now the band aids must come off, so the amputations can begin
